Human Ethics offers two types of finders for submission templates: Person Finders and Sponsor Finders.
Person Finders
With the person finder item, users filling out a submission can search and find individuals in the Human Ethics database. You can use the right-hand properties pane to customize the finder's name, label, title, description, and help text.
You can also toggle whether this finder is required, or if the user can choose multiple individuals.
Optional vs. Required: If questions, sections, and attachments are optional, users may skip them, potentially leading to incomplete submissions. Make sure to mark necessary items as Required.
The Assignment property designates the type of person the individual wants to find. Use the drop-down menu to choose Principal Investigator, Co-Principal Investigator, Primary Contact, or one or more additional investigators.
Please Note: You can only designate one person finder for the Principal Investigator and one for the Primary Contact. All Initial and Legacy templates must have at least one finder for a Principal Investigator and one finder for a Primary Contact.
Person Finders and CITI Integration
If your institution has set up CITI integration, trainings will automatically show up in the People Finder.
This means that you will no longer need to require CITI training certificates to be uploaded. Learn more about CITI integration here.
Sponsor Finders
With the sponsor finder item, users filling out a submission can search and find sponsors in the Human Ethics database. By default, users can select multiple sponsors. To limit the finder to one sponsor, toggle Allow Multiple to No.
