This article explains how to set up and use the DocuSign integration in Cayuse Inventions.
Overview
The DocuSign integration allows you to send Invention Disclosure Forms (IDFs) for electronic signature directly from Inventions. Once all signatures are collected, the signed PDF is automatically attached to the Technology record.
Before You Begin
Make sure:
- You are an Inventions Administrator
- You have an active DocuSign account with admin access
- You can manage DocuSign apps in your institution
Set Up the Integration
- Go to Settings → System Constants
- Scroll to Integrations
- Click Authorize DocuSign
- Log in and grant access
- After authorization, the integration will be active
Please note: If using SSO, you may be redirected without entering credentials.
Send an IDF for Signature
- Open the Technology record
- Go to Technology Uploads
- Click Send IDF to DocuSign for Signatures
- Internal inventors will receive an email to sign
Check Signature Status
- From the Technology record, go to Technology Uploads
- Click Check IDF Signatures on DocuSign
- The system also checks status automatically
Revoke a Signature Request
- From the Technology record, go to Technology Uploads
- Click Revoke DocuSign Signing Request
After Signing
- The signed PDF is automatically attached to the Technology record
Troubleshooting
- Authorization fails – Contact Cayuse Support for configuration issues
- Inventor did not receive email – Check email address and spam folder (internal inventors only)
- Signature status not updating – Use Check IDF Signatures or wait for automatic update
