When using Human Ethics, SP Classic, or Proposals S2S in conjunction with the Cayuse Legacy Research Suite, different administrative data will need to be added in different places within the application. This article will show you where and how to add People, Internal Organizations, and External Organizations (Sponsors).
People
People are entered and edited through Proposals S2S. As long as there is an active user account linked to a professional profile with an institution, the person's data will sync over to Backbone and Human Ethics. Added or edited people will sync within 24 hours, or a Backbone Administrator can manually sync. Human Ethics registers updates within 24 hours.
Note: Profiles can also be updated through HR Connect, and the updated information will sync to Backbone within 24 hours.

Internal Organizations
Internal organizations are departments, schools, colleges, etc. within your institution. Internal organizations will need to be added to both Proposals S2S and Backbone. Proposals S2S will use its hierarchy, While Backbone, SP Classic, and Human Ethics will use the Backbone hierarchy.
Note: It is best practice for the hierarchy in Proposals S2S and the hierarchy in Backbone to match exactly. The department code on professional profiles in Proposals S2S determines what internal organization they are matched with in Backbone. If a user does not match with a internal organization when synced to Backbone, you may see a Users loaded with unmatched organization affiliation message in Human Ethics

External Organizations (Sponsors)
External organizations will need to be added to both Proposals S2S and Backbone. Proposals S2S will use its hierarchy, While Backbone, SP Classic, and Human Ethics will use the Backbone hierarchy.
