Moving a Unit or Subunit in Proposals (S2S)

If you need to move a unit or subunit within the Organizational Hierarchy, you do so by editing the org hierarchy in Proposals and Backbone.

Step 1: Update the Organizational Hierarchy

1. Click on Institutions.
   
   
   
2. Click on the name of your organization.
   
   
   
3. In the menu, click on Organizational Units.
   
   
   
4. From the Organizational Units page, find the unit or subunit you wish to move. Delete the unit by clicking X.
   
   
   
5. Beneath the new parent unit, click the green + and re-add your unit name and code.
   
   
   
6. Click the Save icon.
   
   

Step 2: Update the Organizational Hierarchy in Backbone

1. From Backbone, click on Org Hierarchy.
   
   
   
2. Click on the unit you moved.
   
   
   
3. Click into the Parent Unit box.
   
   
   
4. In the new window, click on the new parent unit.
   
   
   
5. Click Save.
   
   

If you need to change the code of the unit, you will need to archive the old unit and create a new one.
