Once the research team has addressed any discussions or issues and the submission is ready to progress through the review process, you can choose which review type is most appropriate for the submission by clicking Assign Review Type/Board beneath Required Tasks.
Choosing Expedited or Exempt Review
- In the right-hand panel, use the Review Type drop-down menu to select Expedited or Exempt.
- If the review is Exempt, you will be required to answer whether the submission will be reviewed by an Analyst or IRB board member.
- Use the drop-down menu beneath Review Board to select the board that will be reviewing the submission. Once you select the board, the board members will populate.
- Review the roster before clicking .
- Beneath Routing, click Proceed.

Assigning Reviewers
- Click Assign Reviewers beneath Required Tasks.
- In the right-hand panel, select a primary reviewer. The other board members will also be available to select by toggling their switch to green. If you chose exempt review by an Analyst, you will see one drop-down menu with available Analysts to choose from.
- Click Save.
- Beneath Routing, click Proceed.
