Once the research team has addressed any discussions or issues and the submission is ready to progress through the review process, you can choose which review type is most appropriate for the submission by clicking Assign Review/Type Board beneath To Do.
Choose a review type in the drop-down menu.
Fill in any additional fields, and click Save.
Review Types
The following review types are available:
Full Board Review
Please note: You will need to schedule a meeting in the Meetings tab prior to selecting Full Board Review. Click here to learn more.
A full committee reviews the submission during a committee meeting. During setup, select a Board, a prescheduled Meeting date, and Assign reviewers from the drop-down menu. Click Save.
Limited IRB Review
Required for the new categories of exemption outlined in the Revised Common Rule. During setup, select a Board, and Assign reviewers from the drop-down menu. Click Save.
Please note: The IRB Analyst can choose the review type Limited IRB Review only if the policy of the study is set to Post-2018 Rule. You can find this information on either the Study or Submission Details page, and the Post-2018 Rule will apply to studies created on or after January 19th, 2018.
Expedited Review
A single IRB board member or Analyst reviews the submission in certain situations. During setup, select a Board, and Assign reviewers from the drop-down menu. Click Save.
Exempt Review
A single IRB board member or Analyst reviews the submission in certain situations. During setup, select a Board, and Assign reviewers from the drop-down menu. Click Save.
Admin Level Review
A single IRB board member or Analyst reviews the submission in certain situations. During setup, select a Board, and Assign reviewers from the drop-down menu. Click Save.
Once you have selected a review type, click on Proceed to begin the review process.
