Before getting started, please note:
If you use the upload template script for updates, you must add a column for Parent Fund Type Code to the template and script code specifying the selection for each Fund Type (Sponsored or Non-Sponsored) or your manual changes will revert back.
Prior to adding a new Fund, you will need to make sure a Fund Type Code has already been created.
If you need to create a new Fund Type Code, this can be done manually, or using the upload template script.
Manually Creating a Fund Type Code
- Click on the settings wheel in the top right corner of the screen, and then click on Codes.
- Under Shared Codes, click on Fund Types.
- In the top right-hand corner, click on the +Add button.
- Complete the Fund Type Code Fields and then click on Create.
Code Fields
- Code: Limited to eight characters, can be both alphanumeric and mixed case.
- Name: Helps define the Code purpose and indicates funding source.
- Parent Fund Type: Can be Sponsored or Non-Sponsored Fund Type.
- Status: Active or Terminated.
Manually Modifying a Fund Type Code
- To modify an existing Fund Type Code from Non-Sponsored to Sponsored or vice versa, click on the desired Fund Type in the Parent Fund Type column for the item you would like to modify.
- Click Continue to confirm you would like to modify the Fund Type Code.
- The Fund Type Code will automatically update to reflect the change in the Parent Fund Type column.
Please note: A Parent Fund Type of Sponsored will display the financial detail in the Sponsored Funds tab.
Likewise, a Parent Fund Type of Non-Sponsored will display the financial detail in the Non-Sponsored Funds tab.
