In Backbone and Cayuse SP, Sponsors are government and non-government organizations that may sponsor a project at your institution. You can add sponsors within Cayuse Backbone.
Adding a Sponsor
- Within Cayuse SP, click on the Admin tab, and then click Backbone.
- Click on the Sponsors tab.
- In the right-hand menu, click on Add Sponsor.
- After filling in the fields, click .
Sponsor Information Fields
- Sponsor Name (required): Enter the full name of the Sponsor. Example: The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
- Sponsor Code (required): This is a unique identifier for the Sponsor. Example: 100068.
- Acronym: This is a familiar abbreviation or short name for the sponsor. Example: BMGF.
- Country Code: Enter the name of your country, or enter a short name or abbreviation for your country. Example: USA.
- Postal Code: Enter the sponsor's postal code in this field. Example: 92765.
- Type Code: Choose a code to indicate if the sponsor is a federal agency or a non-profit. Selections in the drop-down also indicate the specific agency, if the sponsor is a federal agency.
- Web Page: Enter the URL for the sponsor's website. Example: http://www.gatesfoundation.org.
- Sponsor Type (required): Select the sponsor type from the drop-down.
- Parent Sponsor: Click into the field to launch a search and select a parent sponsor.
- Hide Sponsor: Check this box to hide the funding agency from sponsor searches in the Cayuse Research Suite. Hidden sponsor records remain active in Cayuse Backbone.
- Equity in Company: Check this box if your institution owns equity in the sponsor.
- Sponsor State: Choose a state from the drop-down menu.
- DUNS Number: Enter the DUNS Number for this institution.
- Date Company Founded: This information is used for certain validations in Cayuse SP.
- Out of Business Date: This information is used for certain validations in Cayuse SP.
- Contract Spec. Code: Unique identification number for the sponsor.
