Routing profiles are stored in each person's Professional Profile. In order to set up routing profiles, each user who is part of the chain must have their user account linked to their Professional Profile, and the profile or linked user account must contain an email address.
Finding a Routing Profile
- Navigate to a user's professional profile.
- Click on Routing Profile in the left-hand menu.
A Manage Routing Profile window will appear.
Assigning the Next Reviewer
The next reviewer is dependent on your organization's routing hierarchy. For example, a routing hierarchy may look like:
PI > Department Chair > Dean > AOR > Submit
In the case of the example, the Next Reviewer for a PI user would be their Department Chair.
To assign the Next Reviewer:
- Click on the pencil icon in the Manage Routing Profile window.
- A new window will appear. Search for the reviewer or click Show All for a list of users.
- Click on the name of the reviewer, and click Set Next Reviewer.
The reviewer's name will now display beneath Next Reviewer in the Manage Routing Profile window.
Please note: If you can't find the user you wish to select as a reviewer, it may be because they're already a part of the routing chain.
Assigning Delegates
If a reviewer is not available, a delegate can act in their stead. Delegates see the routed proposals their reviewer sees and receives the same notifications.
Please note: Delegation is not transitive. A delegate of your delegate has no permissions to act for you. They only have permissions to act on the behalf of the person they are directly assigned as a delegate of.
To add a delegate:
- Click the green plus button in the Manage Routing Profile window.
- A new window will appear. Search for the delegate or click Show All for a list of users.
- Click on the name of the delegate, or use +click to select multiple delegates. Click Add Delegates.
The delegates will appear in the Manage Routing Profile window.
