When a proposal is submitted in Cayuse Proposals, a list of individuals must then approve it before the proposal is submitted. This list is called the Routing Chain.
Viewing the Routing Chain
When in the proposal, click on the Routing & Approval button in the top right-hand corner.
The chain is ordered from beginning (top) to end (bottom). The routing chain generally begins with the Principal Investigator by default.
Editing the Routing Chain
You can add, delete, or re-order individuals within the routing chain by clicking the Edit Chain button.
In the new Edit Routing Chain window, you can perform the following actions:
- : deletes user from routing chain.
- : add user into routing chain.
- : rebuild routing chain from the point of the arrow.
Adding an AOR
Proposal preparers must seek approval from an AOR to electronically submit their proposals, so an Authorized Organizational Representative (AOR) should be listed on every routing chain.
Administrators can grant a department user the role of an AOR by editing their eRA roles within the Person Profile.
