What's New

This release includes workflow improvements, submission experience enhancements, and data synchronization updates to improve the overall reliability of Human Ethics.

• Improved data synchronization between Admin and Human Ethics for user profiles, units, and external organizations.
• Updated submission confirmation messaging to be clear if any warnings are present
• Simplified Closure and Administrative Closure completion

Detailed Release Notes

Workflow & Approval improvements 

• Organization approval routing and task history. Identified and corrected an issue where the Organization Approval workflow inconsistently recorded routing and task history. In some cases, an approver (e.g., a Department Chair) would not appear in the task history for a submission even though they were part of the approval routing for a comparable submission. Approval task history is now captured consistently across submissions.
• Closure/Admin Closure blocked by unapproved meeting minutes. Previously, if an Initial submission went through Full Board Review and the meeting minutes were left unapproved, a subsequent Closure or Admin Closure submission could not be completed. Instead, the system returned an error during processing. This release allows Closure and Admin Closure submissions to be completed even when meeting minutes have not yet been approved.
• Renewal reminder emails. Corrected an issue where renewal reminder emails were still being sent after an analyst had already been assigned to a renewal submission, even when those reminders should have been skipped.

Submission Experience improvements 

• The Hidden Primary Contact field no longer blocks submission. Corrected an issue where a submission could be blocked if the Primary Contact field was hidden by conditional form logic after being auto-populated. Submissions with a valid Primary Contact assignment can now be completed even when the field is hidden by the form's logic.
• Clearer "Complete Submission" confirmation messages. Updated the confirmation message shown when completing a submission to more accurately reflect whether the Sponsors or Attachments sections are present, populated, or hidden. Users now only see warnings about hidden or unselected components when they apply.

General improvements 

• This release includes data synchronization reliability improvements to the systems that keep organization, contact, and affiliation data in sync across Cayuse products. These changes reduce processing time for data updates and improve the reliability of data synchronization from Admin to Human Ethics. No action is required.
