The PI Dashboard provides a high-level view of your entire research portfolio, while also offering the ability to drill into individual project details. It's designed to give you a self-service, consolidated look into your proposals, awards, finances, and compliance tasks.
Data flows from your institution's Cayuse Sponsored Projects 4.0 application into the dashboard. If your institution also uses the Cayuse COI module, your compliance disclosure information will also be displayed. Please keep in mind that all dashboard data reflects a 24-hour refresh delay.
Accessing the Dashboard
Log in to the Cayuse platform.
Click the product switcher dropdown menu in the main header.
Select "Insights" from the list of products.
From the list of available dashboards, select the PI Dashboard.
Navigating the Dashboard
The dashboard is organized into two main sections: a high-level Portfolio Summary and a granular Project Details page.
The Portfolio Summary Page
This is the starting point of the dashboard, giving you a comprehensive summary of your entire research portfolio.
Who is Included: The dashboard is designed to show projects where you are listed as either the Principal Investigator (PI) or a Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI).
Interactive KPIs: At the top of the page, you'll find key metrics. You can click on a KPI, such as "Proposals in Process" or "Active Awards", to expand it into a detailed pop-up table.
Visual Charts: The page features charts like the Proposal Pipeline and Top Active Awards by Spending. You can expand these charts for a more detailed view by using the “view all” buttons.
Navigation Dropdowns: Two dropdown menus at the top of the page help you navigate and export:
My Project Details: Select one of your specific projects from this list to navigate to the Project Details page for a deep-dive analysis.
Standard Reports: This menu contains pre-built summary reports that you can easily export to PDF or Excel.
The Project Details Page
By selecting a project from the "My Project Details" dropdown, you can access this page for a closer look at a single project. This section provides several views for detailed analysis:
Project Summary: An overview of the project's core information.
Financial Details: A detailed breakdown of the project's budget, expenditures, and available balance.
Personnel & Effort: Information on the team members and their effort committed to the project.
Compliance Details: If your institution uses Cayuse COI, this view shows disclosure status for project personnel.
