This article answers common questions and provides quick guidance for customers whose non-production environments are being migrated to a modern, cloud-native architecture on AWS. For details specific to your migration, please refer to the separate information you’ve received.
General Questions
What are the migration steps which will be followed by Cayuse?
- A snapshot of the existing application will be taken.
- Snapshot files will be transferred to the new server and imported as a copy using the new standardised hostnames (e.g. customer-staging.train-xx.cayuse.com).
- Link the new application to the customers project room.
What internal QA will be performed by Cayuse?
Before handing off the new environments to customers the following functionality will be tested.
- Reports
- File downloads
- Search and browse
- Notifications
- Check Workflows
Do I need to provide new SSL Certs for each environment?
No.
How do I access the new environments?
New environments will be added to your project room. These can be accessed from the project room home page by clicking Test Applications. You will see a list of the new environments as well as your existing test environments.
Do I need to set up SSO again?
No, as you will access the new test environments from your project room.
Do I need to set up new api keys?
No there is no need to set up new api keys, existing keys will be included in the snapshot data.
How will email notifications work?
As these are UAT environments no emails will be issued, you should continue to use the Test Email Viewer function to view emails which have been generated by the system.
Should processes scheduled to run in the existing test environments be scheduled in the new environments at the same time?
Yes.
Will letter templates be copied over from the existing environments?
Yes.
Will bug fixes will be released to both old and new UAT environments?
Yes.
How long will the old UAT environments be available?
Old UAT environments will be decommissioned 1 month after the new UAT environments have been set up.
