What are Backbone updates?

For SP Classic, some of your institution's data will be created within Proposals (S2S). Once the data has been created or revised, Cayuse will sync the user information with Backbone overnight, or information can be synced manually.

Once data--such as person profiles, user accounts, and institutions--is synced, this information is accessible within SP Classic and Cayuse IRB, and synced users will be able to log in to these applications. The sync with Cayuse IRB occurs twice daily at 9:15am and 9:15pm PST. Users will be able to access Cayuse IRB after the sync has fully completed, by the next day.

Manually Syncing Proposals (S2S) with Backbone for SP

System administrators are able to sync Proposals (S2S) with Backbone manually. Once they do this, institutional data within Proposals (S2S) will be accessible in SP Classic. Learn about adding data into Proposals (S2S) here and here. 

1. Within SP Classic, click on the Admin tab, and then click Backbone.

3. Click Update People. 
   
   
    
4. Click .

Depending on how many users need updating, the process may take up to ten minutes. Click to confirm.
