Introducing the Animal Export Tool—a new addition to the Cayuse Vivarium suite designed to help animal research facilities manage export requests more efficiently.
Highlights:
- Centralized Dashboard: Track the status of all export requests in one location.
- Intuitive Request Form: Capture key details, including the receiving institution, exporting Principal Investigator (PI), and information on the animals to be exported. The form is designed to streamline data entry, ensuring complete information for reviewing and scheduling.
- Flexible Workflow and Routing: Configure workflows to match your vivarium program’s specific processes, with customizable statuses and optional notifications for greater adaptability.
Benefits:
- Efficiency: Reduces time and effort involved in managing export requests.
- Compliance: Supports consistent review processes and centralizes important documents like agreements and health records.
- Collaboration: Enhances communication between team members and researchers to ensure smoother transfers.
Key Features: Animal Export Tool
- Filter Requests by Status: When opening the dashboard, requests for all statuses will be displayed. Click on one of the dashboard filters to view requests by a specific status: Draft, In Review, Approved, Shipped, or Closed
Please note: Return to the default view of all statuses by clicking on the selected filter again, which will remove it.
-
Export Data: Select the export data to download into a .csv file from the dashboard. Click on the Download to CSV button.
-
Set Up Lists: Vivarium programs can use the Set Up lists functionality (found under More) to manage the options for receiving institutions in the form.
-
Customize Status Options: Vivarium programs can customize status options (found under More), tailoring the review workflow to meet institution-specific processes and terminology.
-
Exported Details Summary: Key details (such as the exporting PI, approved ship date, and receiving institution) are listed in the summary section for easy reference.
-
Table of Contents: The request form includes a table of contents that helps monitor progress in completing the form, along with alerts for any required questions that remain unanswered.
-
Instant Validation: Validation messaging instantly alerts users to potential issues with cage cards, such as deactivation or transfer to a different PI. These alerts help ensure data integrity and mitigate human error.
-
Cancel Export: Flexible workflow options allow cancellation of exports at any point during the draft and review stages.
-
Automated Notifications: Automated notifications keep researchers and vivarium staff updated throughout the animal export review process.
