Overview
As of September 2023, Cayuse Platform, Admin, Sponsored Projects and Human Ethics date and time formats are displayed in accordance with your personal browser Language settings. We are working to align all Cayuse applications to support the same in future versions. Refer to table below for projected release readiness.
Impact of Browser Language Settings
Browser Language settings impact how elements like dates, times, and languages are displayed to the end user. Most modern websites and web applications are designed to reference browser Language settings when determining end-user location format display. Browser Language settings are similar across commonly used web browsers, making them simple to review or change (see below for step-by-step instructions).
Rest assured, browser Language settings will not impact data or data meaning. For example:
If date field is entered as 2023-09-14 by user A with English (Canada) browser Language settings, but read as 14/09/2023 by user B with English (United Kingdom) browser Language settings, or exported as 9/14/2023 by user C with English (United States) browser Language settings, the date is commonly understood as September 14, 2023 because it appears to each end user in the format most commonly used in their locale.
Reviewing Browser Language Settings
If you use one of the common browsers listed below, click on the browser name to view step-by-step instructions on how to check or change your personal browser Language settings.
Chrome Language settings
- Select Settings
- Select Languages
- Language '1' Is your current default
- If this Language option is correct, you’re good to go and should see Cayuse dates and times per your Language settings.
- If this Language option is not correct, you can add to or change your Language setting options.
- Changing your Language settings will impact more than Cayuse web applications. Any website or web application that is designed for Language settings will also adopt your Language settings changes.
